When the Water Wears a.Crown
In the beauty of sunlight’s streams,
golden rays glisten on the water’s edge.
I sit beside a little stream,
a gentle breeze flowing through my hair.
I bend to cup the water in my hands,
bathe my head in the fresh, cold drops,
cooling my brow and loosening my locks.
I look up, to the clear blue skies
then cover my face with my hands
as the sun spills into my eyes.
Shimmering shadows
Through moving trees
reflected on the water’s shallows,
patterns of jewels,
sparks of light caress
a hundred diamonds
Adorning the tiara of a beautiful princess.
Holding that thought,
I drift away in my bubble of peace,
floating softly
down the River of Cerise.
