Triumph Day- What a Triumph!

Car Day Out
2

Triumph Day Saturday, the 5th of July

Yesterday, we headed over to The Motorist, near Sherburn in Elmet – a place I’ve spoken about before when my Mercedes SL80 went there for a service and some alterations to make it road-ready. I’m incredibly proud of that car and love every opportunity to take it out for a drive.

This time, though, it was my husband’s turn to organise something special – a car day out for Triumph owners. And what a fantastic day it was! Eight genuine TR8s arrived, including one convertible TR8 and a TR7, along with numerous Stags, Spitfire’s classics, and other Triumph models. Altogether, around 60 cars turned up an amazing turnout, especially considering it was all arranged in just a few weeks.

It really shows how much people love to share their passion for these beautiful machines – and rightly so. Classic cars like these are not just vehicles; they’re pieces of history, lovingly cared for, polished to perfection, and often representing years of dedication (and, let’s be honest, quite a bit of expense!) to keep them on the road.

Events like this are vital. They give us a chance to admire these treasures and, just as importantly, encourage the next generation to take an interest. If we can inspire young people to get involved in this wonderful hobby, we can ensure these cars are preserved and enjoyed for years to come.

It was a brilliant day, enjoyed by everyone who came along. Here’s a video from the event – I’m sure you’ll enjoy it, especially if you’re a classic car enthusiast yourself.

Thank you for watching.
