*May 18th, 2025: Dalwhinnie to Berwick-upon-Tweed
We set off from The Apiary at 9:35 AM, following the A9. Along the way, we crossed several bridges with meandering blue rivers beneath us and saw fishermen in high waders casting their lines in the rivers around Pitlochry.
We drove past Fort William but didn’t stop, as it wasn’t part of our plan. The scenery was still lovely, transitioning from dramatic cliffs and vast lochs to gentle rolling hills, winding rivers, and lush green trees.
We stopped at King Ross Services at 11:02 AM and arrived at Seaview Caravan and Motorhome Park at 1:27 PM.
I had the pleasure of meeting my dear friend Jane, who has lived in Berwick-upon-Tweed for the past nine years. We used to work as nurses together many years ago. We chatted nonstop for three hours—there was so much to catch up on! I prepared tea and cake for us, and after our lovely visit, we said our farewells and promised to meet again soon.
The campsite had all the essentials: toilets, washrooms, grey waste disposal, toilet waste disposal, water, and bins.
**Conclusion:** This was a lovely site with beautiful sea views. We chose our pitch based on a recommendation for the best outlook. The only drawback was that the railway line ran right behind us. I don’t mind the sound of trains and find it quite soothing, but some other visitors complained. If you park further down, it’s quieter, but you lose the view.
The wardens were very friendly and welcoming. Overall, it was a great stop.
