Today, we received an exciting call from the garage handling my car. A complete service and checkover are underway! They invited us to witness the process of removing the hard top and assessing the soft top's condition. After some trials with different tools and teamwork, they finally loosened the hard top. Two skilled technicians and hubby worked together to carefully lift it off and set it on some tyres. I’ll admit I felt a bit apprehensive about the entire procedure. I hoped it would be more straightforward since Richard and I would eventually handle this at home. It looked challenging, and I could predict our usual exchanges when we attempt it for the first time. But I believe we’ll ensure it comes off in one piece. We plan to buy a stand for it because I am driving with the top down this summer, gliding along our beautiful country roads and feeling like a film star. Well, not exactly, but I will have some fun! "Get me this tool and that." They kept guiding me through the intricate steps: "Push it there, undo that tie there," and so on. Once the hood was off, a sigh of relief was felt. I was thrilled to discover the soft top's pristine condition; it looked like it had never been used. Its rich brown hue beautifully complements the car's gold exterior, it was good to see. This was a significant relief since hoods can be quite costly to replace, especially for classic cars, and finding the right match for one of that age can be a challenge. Overall, it was a productive and uplifting day. I've embedded the video for you to check out. I hope it explains the process of removing car hoods! 😊 Finally, we took her home!
