My Dream Car Part 3

Part 3

It’s Coming Home!

Today was the big day. I finally got to see my car! After waiting since the auction at House Matthewson’s I could hardly contain my excitement as I headed over to the motorist, a fantastic place where they restore and rejuvenate cars of all kinds.

We figured the best way forward was to make sure my car was road-ready with a full service, an MOT, and any necessary repairs so I could feel good about driving it. It might take about a week to sort everything out, but the thought of bringing my car home soon filled me with joy.

As I drove to the motorist, I felt a mix of excitement and a bit of nervous energy. The transporter had set off around 10 o'clock to pick it up from Pickering, where the transporter guy had promised to keep me posted. As the minutes passed, I could feel my heart racing. Would everything go smoothly?

Then, the message finally came through: they were just 30 minutes away! We eagerly jumped into the car and made our way down. Upon arriving, we headed straight to the office for a chat about the service and what my car needed.

And then, the moment arrived! I caught sight of the trailer rolling in, and there it was, my car had finally arrived! It felt surreal and magical to see it right in front of me. I was filled with happiness; it truly felt like a dream come true.

As they unloaded her, I grabbed my camera to capture the moment. After taking a few photos, I thanked the wonderful crew who brought my car back, giving them a little extra as a token of my appreciation. Watching them drive away, I was left just admiring my beautiful car, shining in the sunlight.

I noticed that the registration number ended with "HBE," and I felt a wave of nostalgia wash over me. I decided to name her after my Grandpa, Herbert. Some might think it’s a bit silly, but I love the idea, she deserves a name that feels special.

After chatting with the team about any repairs and reminding them to take good care of my treasure, we headed off for a quick coffee and a snack in their lovely cafeteria. The atmosphere was so friendly, and it was great to catch up with familiar faces. It felt like a community of car lovers sharing in the same passion.

The motorist really is a fantastic place to hang out; it’s a hub for classic car enthusiasts. I even thought about hosting my next birthday party there it would be such a fun way to celebrate!

As we waved goodbye to everyone, I felt grateful for such a positive and fulfilling day. I couldn’t wait to bring my car home, where I could give her all the love and care she deserves. I’m really excited to share all the classic car stories and adventures that lie ahead with all of you!
